CANYONEERING COURSE
Traveling through narrow slot canyons is a humbling, yet exciting experience. It includes steep descents and many obstacles to negotiate. Scrambling, down-climbing, stemming, rope handling and rappelling are just some of the skills needed to navigate the technical terrain; team work and effective decision-making are also vital to the success of the day.
During your One Day Basic course, you will descend a beautiful little slot canyon as you learn the art of canyoneering in southwest Utah’s canyon country. Our instructors adhere to a comprehensive curriculum, but also have the freedom to expand on it as you are interested. This course will give you the foundation and core skills you need to progress towards being an independent, knowledgeable and safe canyoneer, and provides a preview of our more in-depth Three-Day Basic course. Give us a call to speak with a Zion Adventures™ outfitter for more information or to reserve your spot today. |

Our guide was fantastic and really went above and beyond to ensure that we had the skills to do the canyons we had planned for later in the week. We loved his style of teaching-starting off by walking us through the setup and safety checks, later on letting us come up with our own ideas for getting through obstacles..."
