BIKING TRAIL
OVERVIEW
The local favorite, this trail is smooth, fast and and a roller coaster of a ride. When combined with the JEM Doubletrack it makes a great half day ride with gradual uphills and amazing views of Zion NP to the Northeast and the Pine Valley Mountains to the West leading to a fast and flowy downhill descent. - See Map |
OVERVIEW
A true roller coaster of a ride, Goosebump traverses the base of the mesa ducking in and out of the shadows formed by the fin’s above you. Much like Dead Ringer, Goosebumps has a few splits into easier and harder sections to provide little challenges for everyone. Goosebumps may also be combined with the JEM Trail and Dead Ringer into a great loop. |
OVERVIEW
Home to the only two banked turns in the J.E.M Network, Cryptobionic twists and turns through fields of cryptobiotic soil. The trail rides well in either direction (uphill or downhill) making it a great candidate for various loops in the area. ‘Crypto’ has something for everyone, there are a couple more technical options accompanied by easy ride arounds! |
OVERVIEW
A great beginner ride with some of the prettiest views in the area make More Cowbell a great way to warm up the legs for a longer day of riding or a great trail for the whole family to experience. The trail traverses the Mesa tops located just off the main Jem Trail Parking area. New riders should still be mindful of a few difficult obstacles along this section of trail, including sudden small to moderate rollers and lose rocks on steep climbs. |
OVERVIEW
One of the newer trails in the network, Dead Ringer wears two faces: 1) provides an easy climb to the upper JEM trail parking lot with a must do traverse cut into the mesa 2) A cruising descent with multiple “A” & “B” sections at tougher obstacles. Be aware there is 2-way traffic on this trail with a couple of blind corners! |
OVERVIEW
This trail climbs steadily from the virgin dam trailhead parking lot to the upper JEM trailhead through washes and canyons to the base of Gooseberry Mesa Point. It offers breathtaking views (both large and small) and wonderful solitude. The double-track makes for a shady morning ride to the top of the JEM. |
OVERVIEW
The most popular loop trail in the area combines 3 of the best trails in the network (Hurricane Rim Trail, Goulds Rim and the almighty JEM Trail) into a beautifully flowing 23+ mile loop that starts and ends at any three of the main trailheads in the area. Most commonly started at the Lower Jem TH and ridden in a counterclockwise fashion, this trail starts out with some technical singletrack along the rim of the Virgin River Gorge, a climb along Gould’s Rim and a fast and flowy descent down the JEM trail back to the lower TH. |
