BASIC ROCK

During your Basic Rock course, you will learn the art of climbing on southwest Utah’s infamous sandstone climbing routes.
 
This course will cover the fundamentals of setting anchors, belay systems, hardware, and rappelling. Our instructors adhere to a comprehensive curriculum, but also have the freedom to expand on it as you are interested. This course will give you the foundation and core skills you need to progress towards being an independent, knowledgeable and safe rock climber.

​Zion Adventures™ will provide necessary equipment for the course but recommend you bring your own harness/climbing shoes/helmet if you have them and plan to use them afterwards.

• All times listed are Mountain Standard Time

• Half Day Tours begin at 7:00am or 7:30am, or 1:00pm or 1:30pm 
  • Tours return between 11:00am - 12:00pm or 5:00pm or 6:00 pm

 

• Full Day Tours begin at 7:30am 
  • Tours return between 3:30pm - 5:00pm  

 

• ​Drive time is between 35 - 75 minutes, depending on season and locale

Course Terms
We schedule reservations so that you can be guaranteed proper service. 

Full payment is due at time of booking. Cancellations more than 14 days in advance will receive a 95% refund. Cancellations within 14 days of trip date are non-refundable. Weather conditions do not permit clients to cancel trips.  If your Zion Adventures® guide determines conditions make the event unsafe, we will reschedule or make every effort to provide a comparable experience; if not possible, all purchases will be refunded in full.
