You will connect best with the rugged, inspiring beauty of Zion if you avoid crowded shuttle buses. Zion Canyon has inspired authors, artists and explorers, who have found solitude amongst the sandstone cliffs for many generations.
There are numerous ways to experience the main canyon on two wheels. Whether you seek a cool swimming hole on the Pa’Rus trail, want a morning ride before the kids get up, or a coast down the 9 mile Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, our bikes are the means to building a connection with this wondrous place.
You have options. The first is to pedal the only bike trail in Zion, the Pa'Rus. Pack a lunch and cruise along the flat, 1.7 mile paved trail as it meanders along the Virgin River. The views are breathtaking and there are plenty of spots to stop and dip your toes in the river.
Second, the most popular road biking option in Zion National Park, cycling the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. It is 8.7 miles of absolute magnificence. You can pedal up it, or put your bike on the Shuttle (April – October) and coast from the Temple of Sinawava all the way back to town, stopping whenever and wherever you choose.
Even during the non-peak seasons, you will feel connected to the canyon if you have control over your day; stopping when you choose, instead of where shuttle buses or parking lots dictate. On a bicycle, you can travel at your own pace, stop to take pictures when and where you want, and have the freedom to immerse yourself in the canyon.
