Each year, tens of thousands of people from around the world apply for the chance to obtain permits for the Top-Down Narrows Hike, though few will get the opportunity to actually complete the hike. On the 5th of every month at 10am, the National Park Service releases over half of the available permits for the month after next, leading to a mad dash of confusion and page refreshing. For example, permits released on January 5th are good for all dates in March. While the park service does their best to assist prospective hikers in obtaining permits, the process can at times be confusing and disheartening.
We've designed this helpful guide to assist visitors in navigating the obstacles of the permitting process, giving you the best possible chance at obtaining the coveted Top-Down Narrows permits. |
