Winter Canyoneering Adventure Day

​A once in a lifetime experience you can have over and over again.


The thrill of descending some of the earth’s most beautiful geologic creations is unique. Sharing it with friends or family only amplifies its magnificence. Pairing these things with our expertise creates a recipe for the penultimate experience.
 
Your day will include rappelling, scrambling, down climbing, and possibly wading through canyon pools. If you already have some experience in slot canyons or with rope handling, don’t hesitate to book this trip. We have a wide variety canyons at our finger tips and our guides know how to provide an adventure that will challenge and excite you.

No knowledge of ropes, knots and rappelling? No problem. Our professionally accredited guides have been trained by certified educators to facilitate your technical introduction.
 
Available as both half or full day expeditions; this trip is great for individuals, couples, families with teens, and small groups. 23 years developing the standards in this industry gives us the knowledge to tailor each and every trip to suit your appetite for adventure. And it doesn’t have to end after just one trip; our extensive menu of canyons can keep you coming back time and time again for more.

Details
  • Winter trips begin at 8:00am (MST)
    • Trips return between 12:00pm - 2:00pm

  • Meet your guide at Zion Adventure Company 36 Lion Blvd., across from the Quality Inn Zion Canyon Campground.
  • Drive times is between 35 - 75 minutes depending on season and location.
  • Early reservations advised. Dates tend to book 30 to 45 days out, June through August. Check your calendar and book early.

What to Bring
We provide all the necessary technical gear for your experience, but recommend you bring the following items with the consideration you may be in icy and snowy conditions:
  • 1 quart of water/person & high calorie food/snacks
  • Cold weather beanie that can be worn under your helmet
  • Closed-toe water proof hiking boots
  • Warm gloves
  • Insulating upper body and lower body layers; including thick, warm, non-cotton socks
  • Wind Jacket or winter jacket
  • Camera

The trip was a combination of rappels and down climbing to get to the bottom through narrow slot canyons and pools of water. Our guide Jillian was very careful and thorough in teaching us about every piece of equipment and all the skills needed to setup and descend on a rappel."
