SHUTTLE

WESTERN TRAILHEADS

Western Region Trailheads include Lee Pass, Right Fork of North Creek (Grapevine), Left Fork of North Creek (Subway), Hop Valley, Wildcat Canyon, and Lava Point. We also offer custom pick-ups and drop-offs by customer request.

We organize an efficient shuttle schedule, enabling the most hikers to get to their desired trailhead promptly while also minimizing shuttle prices and our carbon footprint. The time restrictions indicated in each tab help us manage this efficiency effort. Please know that exact shuttle arrival times are impossible to predict, as weather and traffic conditions, as well as customer timeliness, sometime affect our schedule.

Lava Point (West Rim Trailhead)
Trailhead Notes:
  • Located just below Lava Point, this trailhead is the western terminus of the West Rim Trail, which provides access to a variety of technical canyoneering adventures, including: Right Fork, Kolob Creek, Boundary Canyon, Full Imlay Canyon, and Full Heaps Canyon. The last mile of the road follows the north side of Lava Point, the last place to hold snow in the spring, making it the last road to open in the Zion High Country. When the road is too muddy to drive safely, we drop hikers off at Lava Point Campground, where a 1-mile downhill hike (The Barney Trail) reaches the West Rim Traillhead. With greater snowpack, the unpaved Lava Point road closes completely, and hikers will be dropped off at the nearest reachable point, likely the head of Lava Point Road OR the Wildcat Canyon Trailhead.

Schedule:
  • We depart Springdale promptly at 6:15 am and 10:30 am. We make a 6:45 am stop at the Left Fork trailhead, then continue past Hop Valley to drop Subway hikers off at Wildcat Canyon at 7:00 am.
