Refine Your Skills and Break New Ground

Our Progressive Rock course takes aspiring climbers to the next level of understanding and ability. If you have climbed in the gym and outdoors, but want to learn top-rope setting, or learn to lead climb, this is the day for you. We custom-tailor each course to fit your experience and current capabilities. Starting there, we push forward into new realms, facilitating a stronger command of body mechanics, technical theory, and risk management. All the curriculum is applied immediately, providing you opportunity to practice new concepts, experiment with your climbing style, and clarify ideas with your instructor. If you seek new horizons in climbing, consider spending a day with us to expand your ability and vision on rock. 

We customize our progressive course to your needs, but we do require:

• Belay skills and previous top-rope climbing experience (indoors or outdoors)
• One or more specific areas of skill or theory you would like to pursue such as lead climbing, multi-pitch rock, top rope site management, etc.

Your course can include many of the disciplinary facets below:

 • Top-rope anchor setting
• "Cleaning" gear and taking down routes
• Multi-pitch climbing
• Introduction to lead climbing
• Sport and traditional style anchors
• Advanced body movement
• Energy management

We provide all necessary technical gear for your experience, but recommend you bring:

• Personal climbing equipment, if you have any
• 2 quarts water/person
• Lunch and snacks
• Sunscreen
• Warm layer and wind jacket
• Light hiking pants or long shorts to protect your knees
• Light hiking shoes or sneakers
• Any type of camera

LOGISTIC DETAILS
• Meet for morning instruction at Zion Adventure Company at 36 Lion Blvd., across from the Quality Inn.
• 7 days/week, year-round
• Class begins at 7:30 am (Mountain Daylight Time)
• Drive time is between 35 - 75 minutes, depending on season and locale
• Trips return between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.
