My first rappel was terrifying. Inching over the edge of Lookout Mountain on what seemed to be a dirty chunk of clothesline, my thoughts centered around stuff breaking, me falling, and whether I would hit the Waffle House roof in the valley below. What was I doing here? Why would anyone want to walk slowly backward over a cliff? Minutes later I landed safely on the trail. Whew. Did I mention the rap was only 12 feet?August 15, 2011
We used Zion Adventure for Narrows Hiking Gear and for a half day canyoneering trip. We were very pleased with both.
We reserved the Narrows Hiking gear ahead of time and it was ready for us at the store. We saw a helpful short video and they answered all our questions about the hike and how to spend our time in Zion.
We also did a half day canyoneering trip with Hank. He was incredibly good with my ADHD son and my teenage moody 16 year old, plus all the fears and concerns of their parents. :)
The half day canyoneering trip was excellent and I highly recommend it. The narrows hike was also amazing. I was very glad that I booked everything through Zion Adventures.

We can't speak highly enough about our Family Adventure Day of canyoneering in Water Canyon with our guide, Hank. My husband and I, as well as our two teenagers, had a fantastic, fun, and challenging day hiking, climbing, scrambling, downclimbing and - best of all - rappelling. Hank was very informative about the area, very friendly and encouraging, and very patient. He tailored everything so the fastest and hardiest among our group had as much fun as the slowest. Zion Adventure Company prepared us very well beforehand... no surprises. I thought this would be WAY outside my comfort zone, but it was a fantastic adventure. So glad we did this!

Dear Zion Adventure Company,
I just had to take a moment to thank you for an incredible day on June 15th. Hank Moon is an incredible guide and became very dear to our hearts as he taught, laughed, and celebrated an incredible journey with us. He was quick on his feet to adjust our travels at the last minute, redesigning a regular course into an adventure which worked just as well for the grown ups as my six-year-old autistic son. My son had the time of his life and I can't tell you how wonderful it was to see him play, laugh, and enjoy the canyonering course. Often, all my son and I get to experience are long days of therapy or the stares or less-understanding people out in public. Hank got us to a beautiful, quiet spot, where Tony, my son, could play in the water, relax, and just have a great time. While Tony was safely playing, and with us right by, Hank ran us through our course work of which we were still discussing and practicing on any piece of rope or harness we saw or had in hand.
Two days later, we picked up two harnesses, some webbing, and other supplies so Tony could be attached to one of us as we walked along the cliffsides on our way to Hidden Canyon. We had an incredible time in Hidden Canyon; because of the harnesses we purchased and rented from your store, Tony was able to walk 75% of the hike on his own, round-trip. This, in and of itself, was amazing to all of us. I can not thank Hank enough for his care and concern for our family and group of friends. He is an incredible man who gave us the opportunity to have fun, walk the journey safely, and soak up the beautiful creation around us. I hope you will pass on to him how highly we think of him and how thankful we are to have met him. We are trying to put our schedules together in the next few months so we can put another course/adventure together with your Company for next year; we hope that Hank will be our guide. I look forward to talking with you soon. Have a safe and wonderful summer, I will be in contact soon.
Sincerely,
Joseph Coffin
