become able canyoneers through detailed
technical training and ample hands-on
experience. In this article, Jeff takes our course
to gain competency and comfort with canyon
skills, then leads his friend, Ruth, for a descent
of the world-famous "Subway," a stunning back-
country wilderness route. After a succesful trip,
Jeff and Ruth set their sights on Pine Creek
Canyon, stepping up the adventure and the
thrills.
