Magda Mahoney

When I was 17, I started to travel the world by hitchhiking across Europe. In the following years, I tried to balance traveling, studies, and working to finance my dreams. I biked in East Africa, backpacked in South-East Asia, the Middle East, North and Central America, and North Africa, and worked on fruit and flower farms in Scotland, Holland, and Germany. I worked as a kayaking instructor and guide in Poland, a divemaster in the Caribbean and the Baltic Sea, an extra in Egypt, and a marketing manager for outdoor equipment company in Poland. After graduating from the University of Gdansk, Poland, I came to U.S. with my husband in 2007, living and working in Yellowstone N.P. and Death Valley N.P. for one season. In the spring of 2008, we moved to Zion National Park and we fell in love with its canyons. I feel very lucky to be able to live here and see Zion's cliffs just outside of my window.
On the cool days you can find me hiking Zion's trails; when it's hot, I will be kayaking the beautiful and challenging Virgin River, or canyoneering in Zion's mysterious canyons. In the winter you can see me sailing south along the Pacific coast on our 32' catamaran with my husband, Tim, and our cat, Zuma.
See you out there, appreciating beauty of this world.
