Originally from Kansas, I spent six years working around the globe for Backroads, the largest active travel company on the planet. During my travels, Zion became a favorite destination for me, and I returned in Spring 2008 to live and work in Zion full-time. When I'm not in the field, I work at the Bit n’ Spur restaurant and pedal my bike around local roads and trails. In September 2010, I plan to begin a Masters of Social Work, focusing on therapy in adventure and wilderness settings.
