Anna Rehkopf

I was born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised mainly in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, I spent my free time exploring my neighborhood: the vacant lot, other peoples' yards, the woods at the end of the road... these were the places I wanted to be. I spent a lot of time pulling up the water drain stones underneath the gutters, always drawn to discovering the unknown. If I found a lot of bugs and worms, they were a treasure; if I uncovered a frog, I was over the moon. You never know what you’ll find under there!

My outdoor activities continued to drive much of my life. I went to Middle Tennessee State University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor in Science, though not the kind you’d expect: the degree was Mass Communication, with an emphasis on Television Production. I have always wanted to share the natural world with others, and ultimately, I intend to make nature documentaries. However, not everything is part of a plan. Some things come to you, and it is your choice to take a leap of faith and go where your heart takes you…

My relationship with Zion began in June of 2004, when I took an amazing trip West with my sister and one of my two brothers. We stopped in 16 National Parks in only 14 days. After all the  places I saw, Zion was the one my mind kept racing back to over the next five years. We hiked the Narrows - something I will never forget - which was way better than picking up water drain stones back home. The challenges of that hike, and the constant discovery of the unknown ahead, were enough to keep the Narrrows in my heart forever.

Now, I spend my playtime in a place where I can discover something new about myself, others, and the world around me every single day! Not only do I enjoy the astounding natural elements of this desert landscape, but the people that have come together to share all of its wonders with you put the experience over the top! I am so blessed and proud to be a part of this group at Zion Adventure Company.

I look forward to new challenges, experiences, and conversations yet to be had with those I know and those I have yet to meet. I am very enthusiastic about the unknown adventures that lay ahead!
