“(This is) proof that one ordinary person, with the right combination of character and determination, really can change the world.” -Tom Brokaw I have often felt overwhelmed with the desire to make a difference in the world. At times, it seems very easy after a great interaction with a ZAC customer in the store, or after helping a neighbor in need. In other moments though, the concept of “making a difference” seems nearly impossible, especially for someone living in Southern Utah. In light of the recent violent events in the middle east, my thoughts turn to the devastation that is plaguing much of the world. I ask myself, “What is the core issue? In what way can I help?”. Recently, I read the book “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson. In it, I found an answer. Greg Mortenson was a mountaineer,  a lover-of-the-outdoors as many of us are. Shortly after a failed attempt of the K2 summit, Mortenson experienced a life-changing series of events and gained a special connection with the people of Pakistan.
