Waterproof Camera Protection for Narrows Hikers
As a ZAC outfitter, I answer an imposing volume of questions concerning photography in the Zion Narrows. Through 14 years of field photography, I’ve worked through many equipment challenges, so I draw on those experiences to help our visitors solve their camera quandaries. Most questions I hear concerning Narrows photography have to do with protecting camera equipment. I’ve used myriad cameras in the Narrows, from DSLRs, to film SLRs, to waterproof cameras, and just plain point and shoots; whatever equipment you’re using, it’s important to find appropriate protective gear so you not only leave with the shots you want, but with your camera equipment functional and intact. Zion Adventure Company carries a solid collection of waterproof camera cases, and I want to point out the pros and cons of each to help you make an informed decision before your Narrows trip.
